Eyedeea Photos is a lightweight Photo Explorer  It doesn’t store your pictures; it helps you browse, enjoy, and curate the photos you already keep on your own storage (NAS, USB, HDD/SSD). Think of it as your personal photo DJ across all your devices. Eyedeea Photos is open source and free.

How it works

• Connect storage: Point Eyedeea Photos at your Synology Photos library or any USB/HDD/SSD.

• Scan & index: It reads filenames, folders, dates, and places (when available).

• Play & browse: Shows a steady stream of random photos with title, date/place, and filename so forgotten moments resurface.

• Curate: Spot mistakes fast, rename folders, fix dates, remove duplicates on your storage.

Not a cloud or storage service. Eyedeea Photos never takes over your files. You keep them where you like; it simply helps you explore and enjoy them. Runs on your PC/NAS/Raspberry Pi(recommended)

Open Source:

Eyedeea Photos is free and open‑source software, actively maintained on GitHub. I release updates regularly (typically weekly) and whenever issues are reported. Each change runs automated checks (quality gates, security scans, etc.). You can track issues, releases, and progress on GitHub.
